<p>MelodEar is a music learning interface that allows users to visualize, hear, and sing the melodic modes associated with the harmonic progression of a song. It provides a seamless way to navigate within and between modes by training the ear to recognize melodic passages. Users also have the flexibility to create their own chords, scales, and songs.</p>

<p>Created by David Eskenazy, a musician, singer, and facilitator, MelodEar embodies 15 years of passionate real-life teaching experience transformed into a practical tool for musicians.</p>

<p>Finally, singers have a sophisticated instrument tailored for exploring the complexities of jazz harmony. Instrumentalists, on the other hand, can enhance their inner listening skills and establish a direct connection between their fingers and musical ideas, resulting in a boundless wellspring of creativity. This unique tool empowers users to elevate their artistic expression to new heights and discover unexpected outcomes in their improvisations.</p>

<h2>Workflow and Overview</h2>

<p>MelodEar features a straightforward workflow with three main windows:</p>

<ul>
	<li><em>The Edit</em> window allows users to edit chords, choose melodic modes, and build songs effortlessly.</li>
	<li><em>The Library</em> lets users store their compositions, access pre-filled jazz standards, and customize themes.</li>
	<li><em>The Session</em> window is where the magic happens – offering a visual interface to intuitively comprehend the melodic modes within a chord progression, including internal intervals, note quantities, and interconnections (refer to screenshot #1).</li>
</ul>

<p>This visual guide empowers users to develop their improvised melodic narrative throughout the chord progression. It serves as a foundation for enhancing audiation and sensory memory of notes' colors, modes, intervals, and most importantly, the various melodic transitions between modes.</p>

<p>The Session window includes features such as chord player & keyboard, a vocal keyboard for playing mode notes, pitch recognition for sung notes, fine-tuning capabilities for pitch adjustment, and a looper for focused song section practice.</p>

<p>"See it, hear it & sing it!" encapsulates the essence of MelodEar's musical approach:</p>

<ul>
	<li><em>See it</em>: for clarity and guidance.</li>
	<li><em>Hear it</em>: building reliable skills for real-life improvisational contexts.</li>
	<li><em>Sing it</em>: regardless of vocal prowess, singing with MelodEar's pitch recognition offers a tangible assessment of one's auditory perception – transitioning abstract ear work into physical embodiment. The advice to instrumentalists and singers alike: Sing along!</li>
